US trade war with China will help Samsung defeat Apple, government introduce additional 10 percent duties on goods from China

In Friday US President Donald Trump and Apple CEO Tim Cook held a joint dinner at the Presidential Golf Club in Bedminster, State of New Jersey and discussed the imposition of duties and even Apple’s main competitor – the Samsung.

What they talked about

The fact is that from September 1, the US government is going to introduce additional 10 percent duties on goods from China. Since Apple collects its products in the Middle Kingdom, these duties will also apply to it: you will either have to transfer production, or raise prices for gadgets.

Therefore, during the meeting with Trump Cook discussed the possibility of carrying Apple production in the United States, as well as the consequences of the introduction of fees for the ” apple ” of the company.

Tim Cook touched on in conversation and the company Samsung, which is located in South Korea and will not be affected by the introduction of fees. But the US and China trade will further strengthen its position with respect to Apple.

” We ‘ve had a very pleasant meeting with Tim Cook, I respect him. Tim spoke to me about duties. And one of their shortcomings, and he justified it well, is that Samsung is their number one competitor. And Samsung does not pay duties, as it is based in South Korea. I think he’s very convincing argued hasty introduction of high duties, so I ‘ll think about it ” , – summed up the Trump.

What exactly this means – the possible abolition of duties or any concessions in relation to Apple – is unknown.

And by the way, Donald has learned the name of Tim and either never called him Tim Apple .
