Google teamed up with Intel and Microsoft to promote confidential computing and protect user data

Google, Microsoft and Intel concerned about the safety of users and, together with another seven companies have organized a consortium for the protection of user data (Confidential Computing Consortium).

What is known

Alibaba Cloud, Arm, Baidu, IBM, Red Hat, Swisscom and Tencent will work together with Intel, Google and Microsoft on user safety. The organization’s goal is to promote confidential computing, common open source standards, and better data protection.

The consortium plans to complete three projects. Intel is working on developer tools (SDKs) to help protect code and information from tampering and modification at the hardware level. Microsoft is working on a platform that will allow you to write code to run applications in a secure runtime environment. Red Hat Enarx is working on a platform for building serverless applications.
